- Originally from UK, a courtesy title that is above gentleman but below a knight
- Often abbreviated to Esq.
- In the US it is used to denote a lawyer
- Last year, I spent new year with my family at Sunshine Coast
- We made new year resolutions and sealed them in envelopes, I was thinking of improving powerlifting, reading more books, and building an app
- I was content with work and relationships, I felt like I was finally getting into the groove of life, with one eye on the future and one eye on enjoying the newfound financial freedom from having a steady income
- Then, 2020 hit me (and the world) like a truck
- There was news of the pandemic throughout the holidays from China, but I didn’t think it would be transmitted so quickly to other places
- First it hit Europe, then it hit North America
- Then my whole life was halted to a stop when Amelia and I broke up
- The one consistent factor of my life in the last 7 years is now an unknown. This feeling of uncertainty was new to me
- I was lost in my emotions and can’t seem to find a way out
- Finally, work presents me with a new opportunity to move to the states
- I jump on it but it didn’t seem like it would work out during the pandemic
- I decide to enjoy the year as much as possible despite the hurdles it has presented
- I went back to visit friends and family when the situation lightened over the summer
- I reinitiated the process to get the new work opportunity
- I moved out to live with my friends just outside of Toronto and loved the area
