        • Read the abstract and conclusion, see how the goals set out in abstract was reached
        • Then read the article from beginning to end to get the flow
      • Skim-then-detail
        • Skim to see if its relevant
        • Also check references for interesting leads
      • Active writer
        • Write down specific quotes in another file with comments
      • Read review papers for a general overview of the field
